Today I had one of the most awesome encounters of my life! I had to be out of town for work and on my way back I stopped at a truck stop to go to the bathroom. While I was in the stall peeing I overheard a lady say "I'm pretty sure that's her. I'm gonna ask her. " I went on about my peeing and came out to wash my hands. I noticed a couple ladies staring at me. I said hi and kept washing. Finally one of them said, "Hey do you blog?" I kinda chuckled and said yes and then about died.
This lady SCREAMED! After our conversation I found out that her name is Megan and she actually lives in Minnesota. She was traveling through and stopped to pee too. A strange chance encounter at a truck stop. But I about died when she screamed. She screamed, "Oh my God your Then I Laughed!" And now she is probably screaming because I'm telling you all that she screamed in the first place.
Seriously Megan and her sister Jamie were a hoot! We finally left the restroom and grabbed a soda and chatted for about 10 minutes. Megan and her sister reminded me a lot of my sister Heather and I. They were loud and silly and a little bit feisty. Megan has 4 kids of her own that are close in age to mine and she and her sister are just taking a road trip. Their hubby's kept the kids and they were taking a 5 day girls road trip for Mother's Day/Sister time! I'm jealous! They did invite me to go along but I had to say no.
Megan actually began reading my blog back when I blogged at Picture of My World and followed me over to Then I Laughed. So she has been reading for years. It's so awesome to meet readers! I don't know how to explain to you how weird it is to meet people that know you from your blog but you haven't met them before. I know people read the blog, they leave comments sometimes, my site stats tell me almost 20,000 people a day read what I write but it's hard to really believe that. Then an adorable Megan screams in a bathroom and it's all real! I love that! I love to know that I make you all laugh, or think, or annoy you from time to time. I love that you approach me in public. I love that you know me. And most of all I'm loving that I get to know you from time to time too!
Please please if you see me out and about stop me, say hi, tell me what you think! And if you happen upon two sisters on a road trip tell them I said hi! In talking with Megan and Jamie I asked them what their favorite post was that they had read on my blog. Megan who has 4 kids said that her favorite post was the neighbors cussed and Jamie told me she just started spinning about 3 months ago so when she read my post about the day my vagina died she could relate. She did reassure me that spinning does get easier on the lady parts so I'm gonna go back.
